Dynamic Architecture | World Architecture

Sorry haven’t been finding time to write lately thanks to mid-terms! Hence, I’ll leave you guys with this for now. It is a new architectural concept known as Dynamic Architecture where a building is able to change its shape even after construction. I watched the promotional video (below) and apart from the comprehensive technology behind it, the first thought that came to my mind was “What’s the point?? O_O??”.. and then it dawned upon me “AH! It would be perfect for the Chinese because then they won’t have to buy a new house everytime their fortune directions changed (think Feng Shui). Just rotate the house :D .. “. I wonder whether it is possible to dynamically change the interior architecture of the house as well, then we can get a new house easily everytime we get bored.

I tried searching for information online about this great “Rotating Tower” that will first be built in Dubai but couldn’t find much apart from it being opened for reservations. Maybe I’ll have time to pop over to the construction site when I visit my second home in December.

Do watch the video, contains some cool explanations of the technology behind it. This “non-green” building is more green thank you think.

Stage 2 -- Close Encounter (Display)

'We are all sometimes paralysed by the possibilities of the shopping experience. Even if we think we already know what we want, the store can deploy multiple strategies to snag our intent. Meticulously designed and rigorously tested, display layouts create a disrupted and fractured field of vision, a restless gaze;........

Design Intent: Discovery imagination, people try to find the projects within the hierachy in the architecture - involving the whole space. The world of 'ALESSI' is created by a 'maze' circulation, it becomes more fun with a development to discovery.........

house concept for Living in a land filled with perpetual snow
Living in a land filled with perpetual snow, we can only imagine that Santa Claus has some special magic to keep him and all his elves warm all year. For the rest of us, a stay in the North Pole requires proper equipment — like this arctic mobile unit designed by 2-B-2 Architecture's Andrey Bondarenko. The compact little unit operates off a solar battery and power generator and can keep its occupants safe and warm for 15 days, operating between -40 to +10C and withstanding winds up to 85 km/hour

The sofa is one important part of the living room couch decor and design is very influential if any guests arrived. Here are the best examples photos of modern sofas and furniture, which can provide inspiration for you to make your interior look very attractive and warm. Design by the Danish manufacturer

Interior bedroom, glam and pretty. The geometry of the table and lamp play off the round shapes so nicely, too. And the clock! And the red cord of the lamp next to the red borders of the parasols! Oh, oh.

In this kitchen, designer Richard Mishaan used a narrow green border as a design motif -- see how it bleeds from the walls to the curtains? The curtains and window seat feature a Donghia awning stripe (‘Kauai’ Sunbrella), and the ‘Pudding’ pendant light is by FontanaArte.

Modern Family House Designs
147 Laidley was designed and built by the Architect owners, Jim Zack and Lise de Vito, and they now occupy it along with their two children.

Design was carried out by the couples architecture firm, Zack/de Vito Architecture, with Lise taking on the role of lead designer. Construction was completed by their companion construction company, BuiltForm Construction.

The house is a new, ground up single family residence located on a typical 25′x100′ San Francisco infill lot. The house is just over 3,000 sq ft, three + bedrooms three bathrooms and an open plan living floor with dramatic views of the City, the Bay and the Bay Bridge. The house was designed and built with sustainability in mind using appropriate materials, systems and construction techniques. In addition to the now standard fare of reclaimed, rapid renewable, low toxicity materials, photovoltaic electric and solar hydronic systems, one of the more innovative construction approaches was a panelized framing systems, with 90% of the framing produced off site and assembled in 3 1/2 weeks.

The design of the house is modern and open, expressive of materials, detail and craft, yet it was easily assimilated into its urban context of older houses. The attention to detail is best exemplified by the interior stair custom fabricated from water jet cut steel stringers, acrylic treads and steel and glass guardrails.

The firm’s entry is based on the concept of a diaphragm, creating an iconic new station for miami’s metromover rail system. The building’s façade is comprised of a large scale interactive display that will display images, video and art installations linking the interior to the plaza outside.

The design aims to also connect the station to the plaza outside through a series of ramps. Inside, travelers can do more than just wait for their train, taking in interesting videos or socializing in the expansive atrium that is more like an auditorium than a platform.
