The main reason for scares adoption of baroque architecture for church design in England was plain lack of opportunity. The country was already very rich in medieval churches. The uncomfortable political and religious climate of that period depressed any building and reconstruction, though sometimes it was extremely necessary. After the Fire of London such opportunity finally arrived. Of the 86 destroyed or badly damaged churches then, it was decided to reconstruct 51. And, luckily, Christopher Wren being an Italian baroque architect as well was eager to take on this job in England.
